77 West Wacker

My Role: Art Director, Designer

77 West Wacker is one of the most recognizable buildings in the city of Chicago and a staple on any Architecture Center boat tour. When I first moved here, I had already started work on the building, and felt such a sense of pride in the work I was doing for such a cool piece of the city.

Although the brand for the building was created before I joined the team, it has been my responsibility to translate the brand across different channels when new marketing is created. These pieces include printed tour books for prospective tenants, email communication to the broker community, elevator screens and building signs, empty-floor space branding, and more.

Custom Website

I had the opportunity to create a custom website for the building. The purpose of a building website is to showcase amenities, display leasing availability, and make ownership happy. I used Editor X (now Wix Studio) to build a website based on the brochure and email communication that had already been designed.

I chose to use Editor X because of the capabilities it gave for custom layouts and adding custom code. I wanted custom hover animations for a couple of the website sections, so I learned basic HTML/CSS code for what I needed and was able to create the hover animations shown on the map and stacking plan below.

Whitebox Marketing Floor

The next page I am building will go into more detail on my role in this project. We pitched a $60K marketing floor to ownership, and once approved, worked with vendors to install. I was responsible for final file approval and preparation, vendor file communication, and installation of the acrylic panels on the stacking plan.

Final photography of this project hasn’t been completed yet, so I took these on my phone last time I was there :)
